The Future
Rochelle Tourism has several things planned for the park in the future!
- Open a concession stand in the shop, which has been accomplished.
- Conduct interviews for possible gift shop vendors, which has been accomplished.
- Have a railroadiana gift shop in place by July 2006, which has been accomplished.
- Apply for grants through the Federal Govt., State Govt. and Union Pacific to enhance the Railroad Park, which is underway.
- Increase parking, with possible RV hookups.
- Expand the current shop or build a new shop which would replicate an old depot.
- The creation of a transportation museum which would be located in the current DelMonte building west of the diamond.
